On your iPhone or iPod TouchLooking for some more diverse music? The Unearthed iPhone app from the ABC’s Triple J gives you access to 53,000 tracks from unsigned artists, and neither the app or the music will cost you a penny.

while music downloaded into the app remains freely available to play, you have to do so from within the from the app Unearthed. If you want the tracks in iTunes, you must download them from the Unearthed web site — which is also a useful option for free music if you don’t have an iPhone. Unearthed is a free app for iPhone and iPod Touch.

Tracks are downloaded directly within the app. Shaking your phone will produce a suggested random track to listening, and you can creat your own playlist. There is also an option of streaming, unless you don’t want to download tracks, though that will chew through your data allowance very quickly if you do it on the go. Recommended playlist from Triple J hosts are updated weekly.

Goldman Said: Apple IPhone With New Camera May Be Out By Jun

Apple Inc.’s latest iPhone will probably be available as early as June, include may feature a touch sensitive casing, and a more advanced camera, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. analyst Robert Chen said in an interview, without specifying who gave him the information.

“Apple’s going to put a lot of innovation, not only on the hardware, but also on the software of the new iPhone,” Taipei based Chen said, a member in the Top Asia research team classified the technology team. The phone will feature a new plastic casing similar to that used for Apple’s touchscreen Magic Mouse published last year, he said.

“We are not going to comment on rumors and speculation,”Steve Dowling said, an Apple spokesman.

Upgrading to a 5 megapixels camera will bring the phone into line with that offered by Google Inc.’s Nexus One which was released last week, Chen said. According to Bloomberg data, Apple, the maker of iPod music players and Mac computers, got 23 percent of its sales from iPhones in the Sep quarter, dragging only laptops as a source of revenue.

The next iPhone will go into production as early as Apr and be available to consumers in Jun or Jul, Chen said. The phone may include an updated version of the iPhone Operating System as part an overhaul of Apple’s apps store, he said.

Robert Chen is a member of the Asian hardware technology Goldman team leader, Henry King, who has topped the 2009 Institutional Investor rankings.

Magic Mouse, a computer mouse launched in Oct, has a touch sensitive solid plastic shell that replaces mechanical buttons. Technology may be replicated in the new iPhone to offer touch sensitive features on the rear of the phone, Chen said.
