IPhone and iPod Touch app – The White House unveils

The White House has published an iPhone app, if following President Obama on Twitter, Facebook and whatever else was not enough for you.

Now available on Apple’s iTunes store (for free), the White House app directly to your iPhone or iPod Touch streams update content from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Some of that content includes news, events, briefs, and live streaming coverage of the President and other White House officials. (Apparently the US next week will be available for streaming from the Apple handheld too.)

The White House has certainly embraced using all sorts of technology to reach constituents. For the iPhone less out there, the White House will in a few weeks be debuting mobile.WhiteHouse.gov .

‘Final Fantasy’ Games Announced For iPhone And iPod Touch

Some developers may be looking ahead in the coming weeks to the Apple tablet, Square Enix has dropped a juicy piece of news for the iPod touch and iPhone. In an announcement about as pared down as a Twitter haiku, the “Final Fantasy” caretakers found that both “FFI” and “FFII” will appear in the App Store.

“More than 20 years since the original versions, “Final Fantasy” and “Final Fantasy II” are coming to iPhone and iPod touch!” Square Enix has published on their downloadable games’ on Facebook. That was followed by an equally simple, yet elegant official web that will currently do nothing over stare at you while playing harp music.

The release date for the two games has not yet been revealed, their Facebook page does have some gorgeous looking screenshots though. I played through the “Dawn of Souls” incarnation of these games a few years ago, and there is definitely been some spit and polish time spent updating them for the iPhone. I do not know if I will download them to replay again in another format, but if you have not played any of these “FF” classics at all or since they first arrived on the NES, they may be worth a few App Store dollars.
