Apple enters the market of e-book is not waiting for its vaunted iPad to heat things.
According Mobclix, a mobile advertising company that tracks and download applications, books on Apple’s iTunes, now outnumber the games for the first time since the iPhone was introduced in 2007.
With people already thinking of iPhones as e-book devices, it is clear the company has been gathering momentum to take the market away from Amazon, whose Kindle e-reader has been beset with problems ranging from rights issues to access complaints. Adding to the screen showing the Kindle’s monochrome display makes against a dynamic rival like Apple’s forthcoming iPad, it’s just a bigger, better iPhone, and it is not easy to see who already has the advantage without barely even trying.
