Google Nexus One Failed, Why?

Google is a great company. But most of its newer products have not performed as they should  have. I hope that Google will learn about normal people in their daily life and instinct, and not just rely on search habits and cookies!

This is not the end of a Nexus. This phone with Linux has everything you need to create a suitable candidate against the iPhone. Google needs all is to listen to your heart not the brain!

Do you hear rumors about the Apple iPhone or iPad, even months later, when its release?

The iPad wwas announced January 27, 2010, but the media, fans and critics went crazy month before D-Day. Apple would have paid millions of dollars to create the kind of hype media creates around ‘I’s. However, Apple gets the coverage and popularity free. Now everyone is crazy about the shipping of the iPad. Have you see a similar craze for Google Nexus One? Yes! Google did create some buzz around the Nexus One, but despite a deep penetration of display and initial buzz, the Nexus One is yet to become as hot as the iPhone.

Many things seem to have gone wrong with Nexus Ones’ marketing:

1. Google has decided to learn some tricks from Apple. But it seems to backfired. You can not buy Google Nexus One from a store. You have to order it online from the Google store. That’s not the way people buy things. People walk into a store, touch and feel the product and then buy it. Google seemed to be so inspired by the Amazon model that maintain Nexus online. If Google wants to increase sale of the Nexus One, they should bring it to the market and let people feel it.

2. Too much of The Nexus One. Unlike Apple, which hides their products and play with the Curious George hidden in all of us, Google flooded the Adsense display advertisements with Nexus One. This’s annoying and irritating to web surfers and potential buyers, to an extent where the end user with a sufficient amount of Nexus.

3. Design. While Apple is known for his elegant, sophisticated, polished, Google Nexus One resembles a typical cell phone. The ‘wow’ factor is missing from the Nexus One. Google should have added some visual appeal to it, a phone which aims to beat Apple should not look like the Google home page.
