iTunes – Goober & the Peas

A panel of Detroit is about to launch a special series of releases.

Goober & the Peas, which helped introduce audiences to a young Jack White in the 1990s, delivered digitally remastered editions of his two albums.

“The Complete Works” and “The Jet-Age Genius of Goober & the Peas” will be released April 13 and May 11 respectively, on iTunes, Amazon and other online stores.

Before their separation in 1995, the offbeat cowpunk band earned niche national acclaim for its quirky throwback music, finding a home on the leading edge of the burgeoning alternative-country movement. Helmed by Detroit fixture Dan John Miller, the group included a stint with teenage drummer White, who later turned to guitar when he formed the White Stripes.
