iPhone app development, Adobe gives up

The saga of Adobe and Apple, or more specifically, the development of Flash applications for the iPhone is coming to its inevitable conclusion.

It all started with the change of Apple iPhone Developer Program License – the famous Article 3.3.1 – which prohibits the use of Flash to iPhone converter. In simple terms, the article does not make sense for developers to create Flash applications that target Apple’s iPhone may be prohibited at all times.

Now Mike Chambers, the principal product manager for developer relations for the Flash platform at Adobe, has put a full stop to the story from Adobe’s side.

“We still intend to send the possibility of targeting the iPhone and Flash CS5 IPAD. But we do not anticipate any additional investment in this property, “said Mike.

In the post, also criticized the treatment of Apple developers.

“If you want to develop for the iPhone that Apple should be prepared to reject or restrict their development at any time for any reason, apparently,” he said.

While it is for Flash applications on the iPhone. Apple may have won this round, but the wall around its garden just got a little bit taller.
