‘iTunes’ virus, Apple iPad users targeted
It may have only been on the shelves in the US for a few weeks but the Apple iPad has already been hit with a virus.
BitDefender reported that the malware has found links are sent to users of the IPAD, posing as an update to iTunes.
The malicious link in an e-mail arrives, explaining that if you update your iTunes, you can “… the best performance, new features and security. ”
Once done, the sensitive data stored on users IPAD can be used for the operation.
Backdoor man
BitDefender virus in a statement: “Identified by BitDefender as Backdoor.Bifrose.AADY the piece of malicious code inadvertently injected into the explorer.exe process and opens a backdoor that allows unauthorized access and control assigned system.
“Furthermore, Backdoor.Bifrose.AADY tries to read the keys and serial numbers of the different softwareinstalled the affected computer, when saving passwords of the victim ICQ, Messenger, e-mail accounts POP3, and protected storage. ”
The link is prepared for doubtful IPAD, because it seems that Mac users are not affected by the link.
The Apple iPad has a delayed UK release date of ‘May’ – hopefully without a virus.
