Latest iPhone, Hundreds line up

Hundreds of people were queuing outside the Apple store in downtown Vancouver on Friday morning to be among the first to buy the iPhone in Canada 4.

“I’ve been waiting three years for this to come out. I’m pumped,” said new mom Shauna Brigden, who tucked her young son into bed last night before heading in from Port Moody to get her hands on two new iPhone 4s — one for her and one for her husband.

Shopping for iPhone 32GB unlocked 4s cost him more than $ 2,000 after-tax price of about $ 860 phones. But Brigden said it is worth.

“It’s important,” she said of the phone that will double as her all-around communications, social networking and video device.

“We don’t have a video camera, and I’m always taking photos and e-mailing them,” she said. Now, Brigden said she’ll be able to record her son as he grows up, using the iPhone 4′s high-definition video. And she’ll be able to share it with everyone from Grandma to her husband at work.

Brigden has been one of many in the lineup who choose to pay for an unlocked version of iPhone in April, instead of buying a phone that is closed to a single carrier.

“You can go anywhere in the world with it and the resale is much higher,” she said.

Bradley Smith was in the lineup by midnight Thursday, and eight hours later he was walking out the door of the Apple store with his new 32 GB iPhone 4. “I’m pretty happy,” he said. “I was ready for an upgrade.”

Smith’s old iPhone is the much earlier 3G model. “I’m going to sell my old phone and try and recoup some of the money,” he said of the price of his iPhone 4.

Controversy over Apple’s antenna defect didn’t deter buyers.

Aaron Hilton, in his second Apple lineup in as many months after buying an iPad the day they came out in Canada, doesn’t expect problems with his new iPhone 4. “I feel like people are wanting Apple to fail, so a lot of the controversy has been blown out of proportion,” he said.

Jobs announced recently that Apple will offer free or ceilings, where all the buyers of the iPhone 4, an effort to mitigate the problems with phone reception. Cases are available with all new purchases, and consumers who already have an iPhone 4 may have a case sent to free them or receive a refund if they have already bought a case. The problem of the reception, which can cause calls to be removed if the phone is made in a way, relieved by a bumper that covers the antenna.

The iPhone is available in all major Canadian companies price from $ 159 for a 16GB iPhone with a mobile four votes to three years and the data contract. Unlocked versions are $ 659 for the 16GB model and $ 779 for 32GB.

4 The iPhone was first released in the U.S., where more than 1.7 million phones were collected in the first three days after its launch, June 26 Apple launched the iPhone in Canada 4 and 16 other countries on Friday.

Patches Critical Vulnerability, Apple iTunes Version 9.2.1

Apple has released the new iTunes 9.2.1 update. The update is responsible for a key security vulnerability that attackers can execute arbitrary code. The vulnerability affects both Windows and Mac computers using iTunes and an attacker can be exploited by a maliciously created ‘itpc:’ link for hijacking an end-user’s computer.

Secunia, the vulnerability of society to Danish intelligence, vulnerability (CVE-2010-1777) is the result of a boundary error caused by the manner in which specific uses iTunes ‘itpc:’ links, as reported by SoftPedia on July 20, 2010.

During an attack, the attacker creates a special URL and users visiting the towers. If you are able to exploit this vulnerability, then a situation of ‘heap overflow’ results that makes the computer susceptible to attack.

Apple states in a support document posted on its website that visiting a maliciously-created ‘itpc:’ URL may result in random code execution or sudden termination of application. Apple has set right the flaw via enhanced bounds checking, as reported by Apple on July 19, 2010.

According to security researchers, the rate on the shortcomings of the methods of URL handling is very risky worrying, since no technical skills needed for their operations.

They argue that, given the huge user base of iTunes after the acceptance of IPAD, iPhones and iPods, the security hole creates an opportunity for aggression in bulk.

Amid the multitude of problems solved, there are updates that address minor issues in the articles slipped to iTunes, the demand factor due to sync with some devices unlike before using iTunes 9.2 A problem with IOS and updating of four pieces on the iPhone and iPod encrypted backups, and the necessary breakthrough in performance and stability.

However, the most important problem to solve with the iTunes 9.2.1 update is that the desktop version earlier versions of some bad third party plug-ins.

The same type of vulnerability in Windows XP process hcp: (Help and Support) URL, a default of 0 days was revealed in early June 2010. The two targeted attacks and drive-by downloads, exploit this vulnerability.
