iPad Outselling Apple Desktops and iPod
What is the biggest difference between Apple and Microsoft companies?
Maybe this: While Microsoft has taken a decade to build a franchise around its X-box large enough to have a serious impact, Apple did the same with iPad, in just three months.
Apple’s iPad tablet computer is now officially one of the Cupertino, California-based company’s biggest businesses.
Apple sold 3.27 million iPads over the course of the quarter to take in $2.1 billion in iPad and iPad related products and services, the company said it reported a profit for the quarter ended June 27 Tuesday.
That makes iPad is already 13.8% of Apple’s quarterly revenues.
It’s a bigger piece of the enterprise desktop and Apple iPod, Apple’s two companies that once defined.
