Expand iPhone sales on July 30, Apple
NEW YORK (Reuters) – Apple Inc. announced Monday that four model iPhone will be sold in 17 other countries on Friday, July 30.
The new version of the iPhone is on sale in France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States in late June, creating a carnival atmosphere, and drawing tens of thousands fans eager to Apple stores and their retail partners.
The iPhone is the main engine of growth for Apple and should soon become the main source of income. The final version will be in 88 countries by September – the proceeds faster than the overall history of the enterprise deployment.
At a press conference last week, Apple chief executive Steve Jobs noted that the handset is not rolling out on time in South Korea, home turf for two of Apple top rivals, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd and LG Electronics Inc.
“It’s going to take us a little longer to get government approval there,” he said.
